CHANNEL LETTER SIGNS

Impact Signs is Utah's #1 Channel Letter Sign company

WHAT IS A CHANNEL LETTER?

You may not know what channel letters are, but you’ve seen thousands of them. They’ve gotten your attention, too—that’s what they do best. Channel Letters are used by businesses to identify their location. Most commonly, channel letters are two to six inches deep with solid, often black, sides. The forward-facing surface of the letter is usually a white or colored translucent material that can be backlit. The light-up letters stand out night or day and make it easy for passers-by to identify your building.

CONFIGURATIONS & OPTIONS

Custom Channel Letter Options Utah

Front Lit Channel Letters

A traditional Front Lit channel letter has a translucent plastic acrylic face cut to fit the open face of the letter can. A trim cap border is applied to its edges which gives the face a finished appearance and creates a fastening surface to attach the face to the letter can.

Open Face Channel Letters

Open Face signs are very similar, except the translucent material is replaced with a clear material or removed altogether. In this type of illuminated letter, the bulbs are clearly visible and the interior of the letter glows. Neon is a popular choice for lighting Open Face Channel Letters.

Halo Lit Channel Letters

Also known as Reverse Lit, these letters are solid on the front and sides, and the light shines from the rear of the letter against a wall. The effect of the solid, back-lit letter is very dramatic.

Front/Halo Lit Channel Letters

Finally, Front/Halo Lit letters are a combination of Front Lit and Reverse Lit letters, with light coming from the front as well as the rear of the letter.

TRIM CAP VS. TRIMLESS

Traditionally, face lit channel letters have a plastic trim cap glued to the edge of the face. The trim cap slides over the edge of the returns and is then secured with screws.

Impact Signs also offers a trimless edge, which offers a cleaner, more sleek look.
